Every time I kick it with this group its always an awesome experience. Beat Walkers are a group of kids from Midland inspiring the youth in their community through dance!
This workshop happened last month in the school holidays. Thank you to Fleur Hockey from Home-Grown Theatre for getting us in there and for providing the youth out there with something positive.

Back in April I had the privilege of hanging out with some cool people at the CanTeen Autumn Camp.
For those that don’t know, CanTeen is the national support organisation for young people living with or effected by Cancer; including patience and/or family members.
It was a great experience. Thank you CanTeen for inviting me!

This year I made a brave decision to run the very first ‘WA Junior Breaking Champs’. To be honest I was really nervous and wasn’t sure how it was going to be, but I knew it was something that needed to happen. I contacted a good friend of mine by the name of Airrico and we partnered up to do it!
I’ve run events in the past. One of which was a huge scale event sponsored by Red Bull which attracted Hip Hoppers from all over the planet. But this one was different. This one had no crazy cameras, smoke or lights. It was a real grass roots community event.
This was an event purely to help cultivate the youth in WA that love Breaking and Hip Hop culture. We had competitors from as far as the Pilbara taking part, who had driven 16 hours to be there.
It was an incredible feeling to see kids I’d been teaching for the past 3 years, finally get a chance to showcase their skills at a real deal event, in front of a crowd including their family and friends. Fellow judge Pepito also had many students entered in the event, one of which ended up taking out the 10-12 year old section.
Thank you to ‘Premillume’ for the awesome shots. To see more visit their website: http://premillume.com.au/

September I had the pleasure of building with a really keen bunch of kids. All of these kids are part of a Home School community. Very well behaved and their perseverance through the whole programme was really inspiring.
These workshops had a big emphasis on Strength/Conditioning fundamentals also. It definitely wasn’t easy, but they gave it their all 🙂
Back in July I entered a 3 on 3 Bboy battle with my crew homies Nasa and Johnny Yayo as ‘Mighty Zulu Kingz’.
The event took place in Sydney and is an annual event with competitors from around the world.
We lost in the Semi Finals to the team from Japan, that ended up taking out the event. Much props to them and to the whole ‘Destructive Steps’ team.
Peace
