Rush is an established figure in the Hip Hop world with a story that spans over 20 years. From his humble beginnings growing up in Tauranga, Aotearoa (New Zealand) learning Breaking fundamentals and Hip Hop culture, Rush has taken his craft to the top level as the Australian Bboy Champion Crew five times, an untouched record to date, and now as an internationally respected WDSF Breaking judge.

He has designed various Hip Hop pedagogical programs that encompass all the elements of Hip Hop while encouraging the participants to tell their life stories through art. As a qualified Mental Health Professional (B.Soc.Serv – Mental Health), he focuses on empowering marginalised youth in Banksia Hill Detention Centre and Casuarina’s Unit 18. Rush utilises Hip Hop Therapy and Culturally-Informed Counselling methods to engage some of the most vulnerable young people in Western Australia.

Rush is a member of three world-renowned crews – Fresh Sox (Australia), 7 Dollars (Switzerland) and MZK (New York) and has trained under Bboy pioneers Alien Ness (Bronx), Poe One (Los Angeles), Storm (Germany) & Break Ezy (Brooklyn). Forever a student of Hip Hop with a passion for decolonising the community development space, Rush has a fresh, unique and intimate teaching style that passes on to his students his knowledge and love for Hip Hop culture.
